Marine Carrier AB has its roots and experience way back in the beginning of 1900. Starting with tug boats and log transports in water in the old days, the company is now well established in towing business and barge transports. Tugs and barges have during the years been used in difficult salvage operations.
Marine Carrier AB has a good reputation in working in shallow areas with transports from islands using the smaller units as well as dredging operations from barges in limited water drafts.
Marine Carrier AB operates tugs with bollard pull up to 108 mts and operates barges in various sizes from 1500 mts up to 15 000 mts. Barges are operating with bulk transports of logs, gravel and other bulk cargoes as well as heavy lift cargoes.
Barges are used as floating quays where mobile hydraulic port cranes belonging to close company Marine Crane AB are loading ships.
The biggest tug Herkules is operating both with long distance towage as well as anchor handling in oil business.
Tug Mercur is a good icebreaker with class ICE 1A as well as a reputated semi-distance towage tug.
The company operates a number of smaller tugs used for assistance in ports.
